Abstract:
Bag formation is studied in the framework of essentially Adler`s model
which deals with the zero-temperature expectation value of the gluon field
in the presence of colour sources. Starting from the one-loop effective
thermal action which has its minimum at a non-zero colour-magnetic field
strength kappa, and assuming a Wu-Yang type colour geometry, it is shown that
around static sources ( at zero current density ) only ''hard'' bags can
exist, with a radius less than k^-1/2.
